I rated my favourite websites and overall the trainline was the best in my opinion, especially for its high communication of message. As soon as you enter the website you are directly led to planning your journey in a very concise way.

Making websites with wordpress

First we had to install the WordPress software then have a public_html folder. Additionally after this we had to move adjust the code a bit with our own usernames and passwords, eventually we could now use the above highlighted link that directed us to our sites.

I created some graphic art to customise my front page and created a few subheadings with a link to my blog as well.

these are most of my pages where I intent to post my work on visual communication, sound, video and my transmedia work.

This is a gif for a poster of Dolly that me and my partner created on photoshop.

I designed the sound using Adobe audition; I downloaded sound from the "free sound effects" and also used old songs from the 1900s, which included "Entry of the gladiator" ,"I wonder where my baby is tonight" and "on every block". I also inserted sound effects including gunshots and smooth wind sounds.

Afterwards I sent my sound file as an mp3 to my partner who embedded it into the movie we made on premier.

this is my second mood board with various toy theatre ideas and floral designs from the Victorian and Edwardian era.

Afterwards I decided with my partner to create a small toy theatre with a film projected onto it using a small projector. So we begun designing a story around Dolly Shepherds life and how she gained courage to be a balloonist. We decided to focus on how she joined the circus with her brave choice of volunteering to have an apple shot from the top of her head.

Finally I used elements from all the three online AI therapists I used to make my final script which included Cleverbot, Eviebot and Eliza.

Overall my script had elements of seriousness and humour as well as repetition and this part was mostly inspired from Eliza; Since Eliza's repetition is a factor that makes her computerized self more visible.

To create the glitch I made it seem as though the human was talking too fast so the AI therapist could not comprehend what was being said.

To make my AI sound more convincing I used other online AI therapists like Eviebot, Cleverbot and Eliza.

Eliza is one of the oldest bots created by Joseph Weizenbaum in 1966 intended to mimic a Rogerian psycotherapist. Rogerian therapy is a method that was introduced by Carl Rogers where the client actively makes their own decisions in a therapy session; due to the notion that they know whats best for themselves and the therapists role is just to create an environment that is positive and comforting.

This method is still popular today and I noticed with Eliza the AI therapist , she often repated the phrase "tell me more", this could be the method to make the user excessively talk and figure out their own dilemnas.

Cleverbot is a more modern AI therapist that instead mainly learns from human input. The AI allows humans to respond and the system then replies in a similar tone to the human.  Additionally, this was developed just before the 21st century begun  in the 90s.
Eviebot is a female AI therapist similar to Cleverbot, but she is designed to be more intentionally humourous.

this shows a conversation with clever bot eliminating the users response.

I have begun a new project with sound as the main central topic.
I need to create either an AI therapist or AI talking bus; I have decided to create a Al therapist using adobe audition.

before making my official script I made this practice script which I then put into adobe Audition so I could learn how to use the software. In conclusion, I produced a short 30 second track and I played around with some of the sound effects so I learnt what was more impactful. Then afterwards I made an actual script for my AI therapist. User: Hello there AI: Hey, how are you today? User: I am not feeling too great AI: Why do you think you feel this way today User: I had a rough day at work today User: I… AI: *glitches* User: I am still here, its just that I lost my promotion and I may be going to prison AI: How does that make you feel User: It makes me feel worthless all my hard work is ruined because of one mistake Overall this initial draft was not the best because my AI therapist lacked a sense of humour or any other convincing human attributes. Although, I did form a glitch and produced a regular back and forth conversation. In addition, I was only meant to script the AI not the human, as the humans response is meant to be left for the people to figure out and interpret.

Using premiere I found certain things like dragging the dissolve effect difficult and I found editing sound quite difficult.
However, I found it exciting whilst editing videos and photos, changing the motion control and the filters and speed.

I did some individual filming as well of fireworks and some stop motion, I adapted the storyline to represent two characters protecting the dangerous bubbles from the red monster.
I took some footage of fireworks as well which I embedded into the filming to improve the quality of the effects.

Unfortunately my work did not save properly on premiere but I soon learnt about we transfer and I also used my usb to make and edit the film again.

I produced a newer film with pictures that I managed to recover along with some new footage. The story still revolved around the two toy characters and with the colours red and green.

They battle each other across different dimensions and only one colour is the resulting winner.

We did the filming on our smartphones and we used several props.

The props included: laser light, action figures, neon lights, bubbles , mirrors and some cloth.

We just started playing around with which lights looked best and which props created the most interesting effects below are some examples.

we came up with various ideas including using a hand to and transforming its state and also rearranging weapons and plants. Therefore, plants could be weaponized, in the end we agreed to create a project using lights and bubbles.

For this assignment I had to either choose my favourite book or movie and do a marketing campaign for a theatre adaptation.

I chose a book called "Americanah" by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, a story about a Nigerian girl who moves to America with hopes of a better life.

  I then decided to create some background designs in relation to African design prints, these 3 were my final designs. The second design will be used as my logo for the tickets.

THE PRESENTATION

The presentation was concise as the information was given to the audiences clearly.

First assignment

I finished the first project with my group where we rebranded the university and campaigned a project for the freshers. In addition, we initially created seven logos and concluded with two logos that were judged by others as the best. Afterwards we created some posters and flyers using adobe photoshop.

The title we chose to use was "Strive To Survive" as it links with our project idea. We planned to have a paintballing competition where the finalists would then compete in a pizza eating competition and the winner would get prizes. The prizes include, free pizza for the rest of the year and free resources for the students accommodation.

These posters were good as the colours and the texture were very central and easy to see. Also the information is simple but informative although the typography could be a bit more creative.




 This is the logo we decided to use finally.



this is one of the flyers we created also on adobe photoshop. The background colours with the text aligned well together and the fragmented image is creative and easy to view.

Above are some logo ideas I designed showing the development of my idea surrounding the university with the surrounding common weather. I thought of a range of ideas before including the technology aspects of the university but overall I wanted to be simplistic so I concluded with two ideas, the weather and the academics. Although my logos need some further improvement the positioning of the shapes and writing and the scale and colour. This is needed as all these factors help to emphasise my logos message to the receivers.
